Guwahati, 29 January (HS): The newly constructed Bamunimaidam–Reserve Bank connecting flyover in Guwahati is set to be opened to the public in February. Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma inspected the ongoing construction work during a late-night visit on Wednesday.

Built at an estimated cost of ₹850 crore, the four-lane flyover spans 5.44 kilometres, making it the longest flyover in Assam. The project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the city and improve connectivity across key areas.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that the remaining construction work is progressing at a fast pace and is scheduled to be completed by March 15. The government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring timely completion of major infrastructure projects in the state.
