
Chennai, 28 January (H.S.) : The engineering students from SRM INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (SRMIST) achieved a spectacular victory at the FORMULA BHARAT 2026 competition held at the KARI MOTOR SPEEDWAY in Coimbatore.
The student-led team, known as 4ZE RACING, showcased exceptional engineering prowess and technical innovation by clinching the top honors in the electric vehicle category. This prestigious national-level event witnessed participation from over fifty top engineering institutions across the country, where teams were judged on various parameters including design, cost, business logic, and on-track performance.
Authorities from SRMIST stated that the team’s success is a testament to the rigorous practical training and research facilities provided at the campus. Officials highlighted that the students designed and fabricated the entire electric racing car from scratch, focusing on lightweight materials and high-efficiency battery management systems.
The team demonstrated superior endurance and acceleration during the dynamic events, which eventually led them to secure the overall championship trophy. The university administration expressed immense pride in the students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to solve complex real-world engineering challenges in the competitive automotive sector.
