Welfare and Minority Welfare departments

Lucknow,

25 Jan (HS): A state-level scholarship distribution program was held at the

Jupiter Hall of the Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath transferred scholarship and fee reimbursement funds worth ₹944.55

crore to the bank accounts of 18,78,726 eligible students for the financial

year 2025-26 through a fair and transparent Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT)

system.

Addressing

the program, Narendra Kashyap, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for

Backward Classes Welfare and Disabled Empowerment, said that due to the strong

leadership and sensitive approach of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,

scholarship schemes in the state are being implemented through a timely,

transparent, and technology-based system. He said that while there used to be

delays in scholarship distribution in the past, currently the assistance amount

is being transferred directly to students' accounts through the DBT system.

He

said that as a result of coordinated efforts by the concerned departments under

the guidance of the Chief Minister, till now more than 37 lakh students in the

state have been provided the benefit of scholarship and fee reimbursement,

which has strengthened equal opportunity and social justice in the field of

education.

Minister

Kashyap said that the aim of the state government is to develop the

intellectual capacity of all eligible students of OBC, Scheduled Caste,

Scheduled Tribe, Minority and General category by providing them the benefits

of the schemes and to make them self-reliant.

On

this occasion, Panchayat Raj, Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf and Haj Minister Om

Prakash Rajbhar, Minister of State for Social Welfare, Scheduled Caste and

Scheduled Tribe Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun, Minister of State for

Social Welfare Sanjeev Kumar Gond and Minister of State for Minority Welfare,

Muslim Waqf and Haj Danish Azad Ansari, along with public representatives and

senior officials were present. The scholarship distribution program was jointly

organized by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Social Welfare Department

and Minority Welfare Department, Uttar Pradesh.
