
New Delhi, 25 January (H.S.): President Droupadi Murmu bestowed the President's Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM) and Medals for Meritorious Service (MSM) upon 15 officers and personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) on Sunday ahead of Republic Day, honoring their steadfast dedication, exemplary professionalism, and invaluable contributions to railway security.
According to the Railway Ministry, South Central Railway Inspector General Aroma Singh Thakur received the prestigious PSM for distinguished service. Concurrently, Uttam Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Kalyan Deori, Balwan Singh, Prafulla Chandra Panda, Prakash Charan Das, Mukesh Kumar Som, Pappala Nivas Rao, Anwar Hussain, Nivas Ravula, Shiv Lahri Meena, Dikkala Venkata Murali Krishna, Sanjeev Kumar, Maheshwar Reddy Karanati, C. Iyaya Bharati, and Mohammad Rafiq were awarded MSM for meritorious service.
Notably, the PSM recognizes exceptional long-term service, whereas the MSM honors valuable service characterized by devotion to duty and resourcefulness. These awards are conferred biannually on Republic Day and Independence Day.
