Guwahati, 22 January (HS): Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress president Meera Borthakur on Thursday alleged that the BJP and the Election Commission have prepared a blueprint to cut voters’ names in the Dispur Assembly constituency. Addressing a press conference, she claimed that around 6,000 voters are being targeted under the pretext of ration card e-KYC verification.

Borthakur accused the Election Commission of acting at the behest of the BJP and said voters in areas such as Hatigaon, Sijubari, Dakshingaon and Ghoramara are being harassed. Terming the exercise as an attack on democracy, she urged people to verify their names in the electoral rolls and remain vigilant against any attempt at vote manipulation.
