New Delhi, 21 January (H.S.): Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva launched a scathing attack Wednesday on AAP's state chief Saurabh Bharadwaj, demanding his immediate dismissal and a public apology to India's Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for allegedly insulting Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Constitution, and SC-ST communities.
Addressing reporters, Sachdeva condemned Bharadwaj's remarks criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's welcome speech for BJP's new national president Nitin Nabin as contemptible electioneering.
He specifically objected to Bharadwaj's press conference closing line alleging NDA governments deliberately appointed obscure Presidents to elevate Modi's stature:
Even the President's office was stuffed with non-entities so Modi alone shines as the towering leader.Sachdeva countered that NDA first elevated Dr. Pranab Mukherjee with cordial relations, then honored Ambedkar's legacy by appointing SC leader Dr. Ram Nath Kovind and ST representative Droupadi Murmu as Presidents.
He branded Bharadwaj's statement—allegedly at Arvind Kejriwal's behest—an assault on presidential dignity and SC-ST honor. Delhi BJP unequivocally condemns the remarks and demands AAP's swift action.
