Mumbai, 19 Jan (HS): Bharatiya
Janata Party and Shiv Sena contest together in Mumbai and the Mayor will be of
the alliance. Similarly, the alliance will elected mayors from the alliance in
Thane, Kalyan-Dombiwali and Ulhasnagar, where they fought together, said Deputy
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Clarifying widely discussed issue of confining Shiv
Sena members from Mumbai at a five-star hotel, Shinde said no single party
gained absolute majority in Mumbai. Shiv Sena, which contest the elections with
BJP will not betray the voters who voted for the alliance. He appealed to the
people not to believe in any kind of rumour about the issue.
Shinde said that rumours of working out others
combinations in other municipal corporations where BJP-Shiv Sena and RPI (A) alliance
contested together, the mayor will be elected by the alliance only.
