Guwahati, 19 (HS): Social activist Garima Saikia Garg has strongly reacted to alleged derogatory remarks made by Shikha Sharma against renowned singer Zubeen Garg, stating that a line has been crossed and such behaviour cannot be tolerated.
Garg said she initially chose to ignore the comments, assuming the person concerned was mentally unstable, but added that patience has its limits. “I never imagined that someone could behave so obscenely towards a personality like Zubeen Garg,” she remarked.
Launching a sharp attack, Garima Garg alleged that the woman involved neither respects the Assamese community nor the state of Assam. She accused Shikha Sharma of deliberately indulging in the character assassination of the popular artiste. At last today police have arrested the Shikha Sharma.
Garima Garg further informed that a formal complaint has been lodged against Shikha Sharma over the issue, asserting that any attempt to malign the dignity of a respected cultural icon of Assam would be met with strong legal and social resistance.----------
