17 Jan (HS): Dr. Krishna Gopal, former Joint General Secretary and National
Executive Member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), arrived at the
Sampurnanand Sanskrit University campus on Saturday afternoon. Participating in
a discussion on the ancient Indian education system and its multifaceted
knowledge and science, Dr. Krishna Gopal discussed the nature of the Indian
education system. Referring to the nature of the Indian education system, its
scientific perspective, and global significance dating back nearly five
thousand years, he stated that ancient India was not only a center of spiritual
consciousness but also a pioneer in practical and scientific knowledge. He
emphasized that these authentic aspects of the Indian knowledge tradition
should be presented on the global stage with solid references, classical
evidence, and a research perspective.
Dr.
Krishna Gopal held in-depth discussions with university professors on various
subjects, including grammar and linguistics, architecture and town planning,
building investment and construction science, culinary science, chemistry,
textile manufacturing, metallurgy, astronomy and science, medical science, and
mathematics. He clarified that ancient India's achievements in all these
subjects were not merely theoretical, but were also practical, empirical, and
socially useful. He urged the university's professors to conduct in-depth
research on these subjects based on authentic texts, classical traditions,
archaeological evidence, and scientific perspectives, and to confidently
present India's intellectual brilliance to the world community. He also stated
that the proper unveiling of the Indian knowledge tradition is not only a
matter of national pride but is also deeply connected to the overall welfare of
humanity.
On
this occasion, the University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma,
welcomed him and stated that Sampurnanand Sanskrit University is continuously
committed to the preservation, promotion, and global presentation of the Indian
knowledge tradition. He assured that the university's professors and
researchers will make meaningful contributions to this direction through
organized and long-term research on ancient Indian science, technology, and
education systems. Santosh Das Baba, the head of the Satua Baba Peeth of the
Vishnu Swami sect, and Prof. Rampujan Pandey, Prof. Jitendra Kumar, Prof.
Ramesh Prasad, Prof. Rajnath, Dr. Ravishankar Pandey, Dr. Divyachetan
Brahmachari, Dr. Madhusudan Mishra and Dr. Gyanendra Sapkota were also present.
