The Patiala House Court in Delhi has extended the judicial custody of four accused in the Parliament security breach case until February 6. The court has scheduled hearings for February 6 on framing charges against all six accused and on a plea seeking the discharge of accused Lalit Jha.

Delhi Police opposed the discharge plea filed by Parliament security breach accused Lalit Jha. During Saturday's hearing, all accused in the case were produced before the court.

The Delhi High Court had granted bail on July 2, 2025, to two accused in this case, Neelam Azad and Mahesh Kumawat. The High Court directed that both be released on bonds of 50,000 rupees each. It instructed both accused not to hold press conferences or give interviews to the media.

The High Court also barred them from posting anything on social media about the incident.

Additionally, the court ordered them to report to the relevant police station every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m.Delhi Police filed a supplementary chargesheet in this case on July 15, 2024. They invoked sections 186, 353, 153, 452, 201, 34, and 120B of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 13, 16, and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) against the accused.

Delhi Police had submitted the initial chargesheet on June 7, 2024. The UAPA sections were applied against Manoranjan D, Lalit Jha, Amol Shinde, Mahesh Kumawat, Sagar Sharma, and Neelam Azad. The first chargesheet filed by Delhi Police spans nearly 1,000 pages.

The incident occurred on December 13, 2023, when two accused jumped from the Parliament visitors' gallery into the assembly chamber. Moments later, one accused, while moving across desks, extracted something from his shoes, suddenly releasing yellow smoke. Chaos erupted in the House.

Amid the commotion and smoke, some MPs caught the youths and assaulted them. Shortly after, Parliament security personnel apprehended both. Outside Parliament, two others were also nabbed for raising slogans and releasing yellow smoke.
