Sultanpur,

17 Jan (HS): A case has been registered against a youth in the Haliapur police

station area of Sultanpur district in Uttar Pradesh for posting objectionable

posts on Facebook related to Hindu deities and the Bhagavad Purana. Police are

attempting to arrest the accused.

Station

House Officer Vandana Agrahari said on Saturday that Arun Kumar Tiwari, a

resident of Umra village, filed a complaint at the Haliapur police station. In

his complaint, he stated that Rajjab Ali, a resident of Gaura Parani, Umra,

posted objectionable material on social media using a Facebook ID named

Rajjan Khan. In the complaint, he posted pictures of Hindu deities,

posing objectionable questions about them, and also included passages from the

Bhagavad Gita. The applicant alleges that this act was intended to incite

communal frenzy and provoke Hindu-Muslim conflict.

His

actions have hurt the entire Hindu community and could increase animosity

between Hindus and Muslims. The incident is said to have occurred on January 15,

although the complaint also states that the accused had been posting such posts

for the past few days. Station House Officer Vandana Agrahari stated that a

case has been registered under relevant sections based on Arun Kumar Tiwari's

complaint. Police are continuously making efforts to arrest the accused, Razzab

Ali.
