Japanese Foreign Minister Takes Iconic Ride on Delhi Metro


New Delhi, 17 January (H.S.): Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi embarked on a metro journey from Central Secretariat to Patel Chowk stations on Saturday, accompanied by Japan's Ambassador to India, Ono Keiichi.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) issued a press release on Saturday detailing the visit, wherein senior DMRC officials briefed Motegi and his accompanying delegation on the Delhi Metro project at Central Secretariat station.

Subsequently, the Foreign Minister and his team traveled from Central Secretariat to Patel Chowk and returned via the same route, experiencing the network firsthand.

During the tour, Motegi exhibited profound interest in the construction and operational facets of the Delhi Metro, underscoring the exemplary symbol of India-Japan friendship and collaboration.

Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has extended financial assistance to the Delhi Metro project since its Phase 1 inception, bolstering its expansion and technological prowess.
