15 Jan (HS): Member of Parliament Ujjwal Raman Singh paid heartfelt tribute to

the late Shakir Hussain 'Tashna', a senior journalist, master poet, and skilled

Mushaira-Nizamatkar of Urdu literature, at his residence in Kareli. On this

occasion, the Vishwa Janchetna Trust India announced the establishment of the

prestigious literary award Tashna Samman to preserve and promote

the rich tradition of Urdu literature, poetry, and ghazal.

This award is being established in the memory of late Shakir Hussain 'Tashna',

who considered journalism as his life's religion and served Urdu literature

selflessly and created a distinct identity in the literary world with his

sensitive, simple and influential personality.

On this occasion, social worker Asrar Niazi said that Shakir Hussain 'Tashna'

was a strong pillar of both Urdu literature and journalism, and this award is a

true tribute to his services.

Hussain 'Ravi', son of the late Tashna Sahib, said that the 'Tashna Samman' is

a meaningful effort to perpetuate his father's literary pursuits, ideology, and

values. Advocate Bakhtiyar Yusuf praised Tashna Sahib's equal command over Urdu

and Hindi languages, calling his personality a symbol of literary harmony. Dr.

Rahul Shukla 'Sahil', National Vice President of Vishwa Janchetna Trust India,

said that through the organization's Urdu branch, Bazm-e-Ahbaab, Urdu

literature will be given a new direction by continuously organizing grand

mushairas and sher-o-shayari.

Dignitaries

present at the event included Mahmood, Mohammad Akbar Ali, Moin Habibi,

Mohammad Shahab, Talat Mahmood, Kaushar Rizvi, S.M. Rizvi, Mohammad. Many

literature lovers and social workers including Danish, Yasin, Advocate Farhan

Alam, Suhail Akhtar, Awasaf Nisar, Saif Ali, Asad Hussain Tabi, Asad Qureshi,

Mohammad Qadir, Shariq Siddiqui, Kausar were present. The organisers expressed

confidence that “Tashna Samman” will not only perpetuate the literary legacy of

late Shakir Hussain ‘Tashna’ but will also strongly convey the tradition,

decency and literary dignity of Urdu literature to the coming generations.
