Mumbai, 15 Jan (HS): The State Election Commission
has announced that henceforth traditional ink will be used during elections.
The announcement came after receiving complaints against voters’ fingers mark
using a marker, which can be easily removed.
Uddhav Thackeray of Shiv Sena UBT group and Raj Thackeray
of MNS alleged that this can lead to more than one votes by a voter. The
Thackeray brothers strongly criticised the Election Commission and the ruling BJP-led
Mahayuti government.
Replying to the allegations Chief Minister Devendra
Fadnavis said that the opposition are criticising the Election Commission as
they can see their defeat in the elections. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
said that he discussed the issue with the Election Commission authorities.
Following the criticism the Election Commission
announced the use of traditional ink in the futre.
