Imphal, 15 January (HS): Security forces and Manipur Police carried out multiple operations across Imphal West and Imphal East districts in the last 24 hours, leading to the arrest of cadres of banned outfits KYKL and KCP (Noyon).

According to police, a cadre of KYKL, identified as Shagolsem Lokeshor Singh (35) alias Sarat alias Ibungo, was arrested from Sekmai Khunou under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district. He is a resident of Kanto Sabal, Imphal West and was staying at Mantop Yumpham relief camp. A mobile phone with two SIM cards was seized from his possession.

In another operation on the same day, security forces arrested a cadre of KYKL (SOREPA), identified as Shamulailatpam Arbin Sharma (19) alias Phirepa, from Uripok Achom Leikai under Imphal Police Station in Imphal West district. He is a resident of Nongpok Sekmai Makha Leikai and was staying at Salam Mamang Leikai. A mobile phone along with a SIM card was recovered from him.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police arrested three cadres of KCP (Noyon) involved in extortion from Mantripukhri Lamlongei Maning Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district. The arrested persons have been identified as Chumkham Tabaraj Singh (19) alias Thoithoiba of Lamlai Awang Leikai, Imphal East; Sanjenbam Mitrajit Singh (54) alias Korounganba of Sega Road, Khwairakpam Leikai, Imphal West; and Wayengbam Thoungamba (19) of Sawombung College Gate, Imphal East district.

Police said further investigation is underway.--------------
