Imphal, 14 January (HS): Manipur Police arrested three rebels of the proscribed outfit KYKL (SOREPA) from different locations of Imphal West district on Thursday.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Keithelakpam Telheiba Mangang alias Thoiba alias Lamyanba (23) of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi, Imphal West district, Konthoujam Gooddy Meitei alias Phirepa (23) of Bishnupur Ward No. 10, Joypur Khunou under Bishnupur district and Laishram Ichan Devi alias Sangita (30) of Wabagai Terapishak, Kakching district, presently residing at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai. They were apprehended from Kangabam Leikai, Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai and Kwakeithel Bazar respectively.
Police recovered three mobile phones, four SIM cards, cash amounting to ₹6,000 and one Yamaha motorcycle from their possession.
According to police sources, the arrested cadres were involved in recruiting new members, carrying out extortion activities in the valley districts and providing logistic support to their organisation. Further investigation in the case is underway.-----------
