New Delhi, 14 January (H.S.): A sudden fire broke out on Wednesday morning at 8:05 AM in the government residence of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, Member of Parliament, and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, located at House Number 21 on Mother Teresa Crescent Road.

Fire department officials confirmed the incident, initially reported at Bungalow No. 2, which quick investigation identified as Prasad's official quarters. Three fire tenders rushed to the scene, with Delhi Police and local administration swiftly mobilizing in response on Wednesday.

According to a fire official, the blaze originated in a bed within one room, rapidly filling the space with thick smoke. Firefighters brought the flames fully under control by 8:30 AM after approximately 30 minutes of intense efforts.

Preliminary assessments point to a short circuit as the likely cause, with investigations ongoing into Wednesday morning.
