New Delhi, 14 January (H.S.): Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh extended Makar Sankranti greetings to the people of India today, Wednesday. Opposition leaders and chief ministers of several states joined in conveying the festive wishes .

Union Home Minister Amit Shah posted on X, stating, Heartfelt Makar Sankranti greetings to all. May this festival of energy, enthusiasm, and zeal bring boundless happiness and prosperity into everyone's lives.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari congratulated the nation, saying that this sacred festival of Makar Sankranti should usher in optimal health, happiness, and prosperity for all .

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh offered greetings for Makar Sankranti, Uttarayan, Magh Bihu, and Pongal, noting that these festivals symbolize new awareness, auspicious beginnings, and the eternal rhythm of nature. He added that they are deeply embedded in India's rich cultural heritage, reflecting unity in diversity, balance, and harmony.

Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also extended Makar Sankranti greetings to the countrymen.
