New Delhi, September 2(HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused Pawan Khera, Chairman of the Congress party’s media department, of possessing two voter identification cards.

At a press conference held at the party headquarters, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari alleged that Pawan Khera, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, holds two voter IDs — one from the Jangpura Assembly constituency and the other from Assembly constituency number 40. Bhandari claimed this implicates Khera in electoral malpractice.

Citing Section 62, Subsection 2 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, Bhandari stated that no individual is permitted to vote in more than one Assembly constituency. He demanded that Rahul Gandhi clarify whether he acknowledges Pawan Khera as the “real thief” and whether he was aware of Khera’s possession of multiple voter IDs.

Bhandari further questioned if Rahul Gandhi would label Khera a vote thief and accept that the Gandhi-Wadra family opposes the Special Investigation Report (SIR) in order to shield electoral fraud. He accused Congress of promoting illegal infiltration and raised questions about Sonia Gandhi’s name appearing on voter lists despite not being an Indian citizen in 1980.

He urged Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders involved in electoral malpractices to apologize to the nation.
