Haridwar, August 4 (HS): Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday attended the 50th Nirvana Day of Satguru Lal Das Maharaj at Shri Brahma Nivas Ashram, Bhupatwala in Haridwar.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Dhami said that Satguru Lal Das Maharaj dedicated his life to spirituality, inspiring people to walk the path of service, truth, and devotion. “He spread the spirit of devotion among the masses. His voice carried divine power, and his vision radiated the compassion of Lord Buddha,” said the CM, adding that Satguru’s teachings were centered on the belief that service is the highest form of religion.

The Chief Minister also remarked that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Sanatan culture is being widely promoted across the world, and people globally are becoming familiar with India’s ancient traditions and philosophy. He said the state government is continuously working toward preserving and promoting Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage. He added that the proposed Rishikesh-Haridwar Corridor will be constructed, and once completed, Haridwar will reflect the grandeur seen in Kashi and Ayodhya.

CM Dhami reiterated that the state government is fully committed to preserving Uttarakhand’s cultural values and demographic identity. A strict anti-conversion law has been enacted in the state, and to ensure equal rights and justice for all, Uttarakhand became the first state in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

He further stated that ‘Operation Kaalnemi’ is being run in the state to take action against those who disguise themselves under the guise of religion to deceive people. In addition, students in schools will be taught about the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, and a Center for Hindu Studies has also been established at Doon University.
