Kensington Oval (London), August 3. The fifth Test match being played between India and England has taken an exciting turn after the third day of play. India has set a massive target of 374 runs for England, who have scored 50 runs for the loss of 1 wicket by the end of the day's play. England needs 324 more runs to win, while India requires 9 wickets.

Day 3 was highlighted by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Akash Deep who established a significant 107-run partnership, intensifying pressure on England.

Akash, batting as a nightwatchman, contributed 66 runs, while Jaiswal celebrated his sixth Test century with 118 runs, setting a solid foundation for the Indian middle order. Dhruv Jurel added 34 runs, and Ravindra Jadeja notched his sixth score over 50 this series, the most for any Indian in England.

After losing a few quick wickets, Washington Sundar’s explosive 53 off 46 balls helped India finish at 396, setting England a daunting target of 374 runs. Josh Tongue stood out for England, securing a five-wicket haul and concluding the series with 19 wickets, the most for an England bowler.

In reply, England's openers started well, with Ben Duckett scoring 34 runs as they reached 50/1 at the end of Day 3, requiring 324 more runs for victory. However, they will be without Ben Stokes due to a shoulder injury, and Chris Woakes is unable to bat after injuring his hand. If successful, it would be England's highest chase at The Oval, sealing the series 3-1.
