New Delhi, Aug 22 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday extended his party’s support to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) vice-presidential candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan.

Naidu, accompanied by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs, met Radhakrishnan in New Delhi to formally convey his backing. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Naidu described Radhakrishnan as a “most suitable candidate” for the high constitutional post.

“We are a part of the NDA; how can we not support its candidates? The TDP stands for the Telugu people, but this is a larger issue of alliance credibility. For over five decades, our party has earned people’s trust, and that trust is our strength. C.P. Radhakrishnan is an excellent choice, and everyone should support him,” Naidu said.

He added that the NDA has the numbers to ensure a comfortable victory in the vice-presidential election. “The position of Vice President is one of great honor. The opposition, despite lacking a majority, has fielded a candidate just for political reasons. But we are not here to do politics; we are confident of winning with a clear majority,” he remarked.

Earlier in the day, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, along with State Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, and MP Lavu Krishna Devarayalu, met 16th Finance Commission Chairperson Arvind Panagariya at Udyog Bhawan.
