New Delhi, August 22 (HS): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday called on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the national capital, pressing for enhanced central assistance to accelerate the state’s ongoing development projects.

According to the Finance Ministry, Naidu, accompanied by a delegation of ministers and MPs, held detailed discussions with Sitharaman for nearly 50 minutes. The talks covered a wide range of issues, including state-specific infrastructure initiatives and integration with central flagship schemes such as Shashi and Purvodaya.

The Chief Minister urged the Union government to step up financial allocations to Andhra Pradesh, underlining the state’s priority sectors and critical funding needs.

Naidu was joined at the meeting by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Andhra Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav, and Telugu Desam Party MP L. Krishna Devarayalu, among others. Together, they pressed for greater budgetary support from the Centre.

The meeting was part of a series of high-level engagements lined up by Naidu in New Delhi to push for Andhra Pradesh’s developmental agenda.
