Delhi, 3 July (H.S.): Ahead of the assembly elections, the Election Commission is focusing on improving the electoral process and engaging with political parties. On Thursday, a YSR Congress Party delegation, led by Y.V. Subba Reddy, met with the Commission in New Delhi to share their suggestions for electoral reforms. They engaged in detailed discussions with Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Election Commissioner, Dr. Sukbir Singh Sandhu, and Dr. Vivek Joshi. This meeting is part of the Commission's efforts to enhance transparency, inclusivity, and trust in the electoral process through dialogue with national and state political party leaders.
Previously, the Commission met with several major parties, including the Bahujan Samaj Party, BJP, CPI (M), National People's Party, and Aam Aadmi Party. Additionally, a Trinamool Congress delegation also met the Commission earlier in July. This year, the Commission conducted 4,719 all-party meetings nationwide in March, engaging over 28,000 political representatives to discuss electoral issues comprehensively.
