Ballia,

28 July (HS): Officials reported on Monday that at least ten persons were hurt

in a brawl here between the families of BJP MP Virendra Singh Mast and a former

MLA. Cross FIRs have been lodged in response to complaints submitted by both

sides on serious crimes such as attempted murder, rioting, and dacoity against

26 named suspects and numerous unnamed individuals, according to police. The

event happened on Sunday evening in Bairia tehsil, Ballia district. According

to police, Prashant Upadhyay, a resident of Sonbarsa village, said in his

complaint that Surendra Singh and his colleagues attacked them during the

cremation ritual at Pachrakhia Ghat.

According

to the FIR, Upadhyay stated, After cremation, our vehicles were stopped

at Deoraj Brahma Morh, and we were attacked with bricks, sticks, and

sharp-edged weapons.

Surendra

Singh even discharged a revolver at me.

The bullet came close to hitting my ear.

Police

claimed numerous people were injured with knives and sticks, and several

vehicles were destroyed.

Surendra

Singh's son Vidya Bhushan Singh accused former MP Mast's son Vipulendra Pratap

Singh and others of attempting to assassinate him in a counter-complaint. They arrived in a car and tried to cut my

throat with a knife. Vipulendra Pratap

Singh pointed a gun at me, he claimed. Mohammad Faheem Qureshi, Deputy

Superintendent of Police (Bairia), stated that 10 persons were hurt on both

sides of the altercation and are being treated at the Sonbarsa Community Health

Centre.

Meanwhile,

both parties blamed one another for the tragedy. Vipulendra Pratap Singh stated that everyone

is aware of Surendra Singh's disruptive behaviour. He started the incident with aggressive

words. Surendra Singh, on the other

hand, said that the event began from their end, and that he had no remorse

about what occurred. Further inquiry is underway.
