Kamrup (Assam), 4 June (HS): A tragic incident has come to light in Balisatra of Rangia. Police said on Wednesday that a youth went missing while bathing in a local pond on Tuesday. The missing youth has been identified as 30-year-old Mintu Namahsudra.
According to the eyewitnesses, Mintu had gone to take a bath in the pond with some of his local friends. While bathing, he suddenly drowned in the water and disappeared from sight within a few moments.
On receiving the information, the SDRF team reached the spot and launched a search operation and after a lot of effort, recovered the body of the youth from the pond.
There is a wave of mourning in the area due to the incident and the police have started investigation by sending the body for post-mortem.
