Lucknow, 12 June (HS): Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed great sadness on Thursday over
the crash of Air India aircraft AI171, which was on its way to London from
Ahmedabad. The chief minister expressed his sympathies to the families of those
killed in the disaster, describing the incident as highly upsetting. An Air
India jet destined for London with 242 passengers and crew crashed seconds
after takeoff from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. Around 2 p.m., a
Boeing aircraft crashed in the Meghaninagar region near Ahmedabad international
airport. The horrific news of the jet accident in Ahmedabad is heartbreaking. A
large number of passengers have died. I
pray to God for everyone's safety and hope that such occurrences do not result
in any future deaths, Adityanath stated. He delivered these statements during
an event at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in the state capital.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party
president Akhilesh Yadav has urged that authorities provide swift clarity
regarding the jet accident, in which multiple people are believed to have died.
Yadav wrote on X in Hindi that there needs be prompt clarity surrounding the
Ahmedabad jet disaster so that all questions are cleared up. “Prayers for all passengers and staff,”
Akhilesh remarked. He advocated for the
highest degree of rescue, relief, and therapy. Later, while engaging with the
media here, Yadav stated that the accident of the Air India jet is really
unfortunate. Aircraft crashes are
significant occurrences. There is currently
minimal information on the disaster, therefore I am requesting the government,
despite the fact that the government must have already begun rescue and relief
activities for passengers.
