
Patna, May 23 (HS): Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw arrived in Patna last night for a two-day visit, during which he will present gifts to Bihar. After staying overnight at Patna Airport, he took the MR Special Train to Jamalpur today, accompanied by Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. At 11 AM, he will inspect the Jamalpur railway engine workshop, which is set for a revamp with plans to assign maintenance for LHB coaches and Vande Bharat trains to this facility. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a wagon POH facility, expected to enable the repair of 545 to 800 wagons monthly.
Minister Vaishnaw will also visit various shops of the Jamalpur workshop and participate in the foundation-laying ceremony. He plans to return to Patna by train at 2:30 PM, arriving by 5 PM before flying to Delhi at 6:30 PM. His visit is significant amid upcoming assembly elections in Bihar, coinciding with Prime Minister Modi's scheduled visit for further announcements.
