Raipur, 22 May (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate five redeveloped railway stations in Chhattisgarh on Thursday via video conferencing, part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The stations include Dongargarh, Bhilai, Urkura, Ambikapur, and Bhanupratappur, with a total of 98 stations being inaugurated across India. This scheme aims to modernise railway stations by enhancing passenger amenities and infrastructure, focusing on facilities such as contemporary waiting rooms, clean toilets, lifts, digital information systems, and energy efficiency.
Beautification features include murals and green spaces reflecting local culture, along with Divyangjan-friendly access and organized traffic arrangements. A total of 32 railway stations in Chhattisgarh are slated for development, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,680 crore, aiming to connect remote areas, enhance tourism, and improve locals' living standards.
