Guwahati, 14 May (HS): In a major relief for city residents, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced free parking for two-wheelers and three-wheelers at designated parking lots starting June 1.

Guwahati Mayor Mrigen Sarania stated that the facility will be available at all 51 parking locations under the GMC’s jurisdiction. This includes the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where parking for bikes and autos will also be free.

The Mayor also mentioned that plans are underway to create dedicated parking slots for the middle class to prevent roadside parking and ease traffic congestion.

The move aims to make Guwahati more organized and free from traffic jams. The Mayor urged citizens to take advantage of this initiative and contribute to maintaining order in the city.--------------
