New Delhi, May 13 (HS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a CBI investigation into the recent deaths from poisonous liquor in Punjab, labeling the incident a tragedy. BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized the Bhagwant Mann government for its ineffective policies, accusing it of focusing on political distractions instead of addressing serious issues like crime. A total of fifteen individuals have died due to toxic liquor, which Chugh deems a massacre requiring justice against the guilty parties. He highlighted the dangers of the liquor mafia mixing harmful chemicals for profit, targeting drug addicts who consume cheap liquor despite its toxicity.

Chugh condemned the Aam Aadmi Party, particularly leaders Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, for their failure to combat addiction in Punjab and for ruining many families. As per reports, the police have arrested four individuals linked to the illegal liquor production that contributed to these deaths, underscoring the ongoing crisis in the region.
