New Delhi, May 13 (H.S.): The Government of India has declared a Pakistani official working at the High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi as 'persona non grata.' The official is reported to be named Ehsan ur Rehman, also known as Danish. He has been accused of leaking sensitive information related to the Indian Army.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Government of India declared the Pakistani official at the High Commission in New Delhi as 'persona non grata' because he was engaged in activities incompatible with his official position. He has been asked to leave India within 24 hours. A demarche has been issued today to the Charge d'Affaires of the Pakistani High Commission regarding this matter.
Notably, the Punjab Police have arrested an individual in this case. This person was allegedly linked to the Pakistani official. The arrested individual is accused of sharing security-related information. The action taken by the Punjab Police has uncovered this conspiracy.
