Bangladesh protests against Gaza massacre

Dhaka, April 7 (H.S.): In response to a global strike for Palestinian rights, students and educational institutions in Bangladesh have pledged support for Gaza. On Monday, classes and exams were suspended at Dhaka University (DU) and Jagannath University, while Jahangirnagar University announced an academic halt for Tuesday.

Rajshahi University plans to hold a rally against Israel's attacks. Multiple student organizations, including Chhatra Dal and Islami Chhatra Shibir, called for a closure of educational institutions and offices in solidarity with the World Stops for Gaza movement. Chhatra Dal will wear black masks and march in urban areas on Tuesday.

A group of DU students has organized a significant march to the US embassy on Tuesday afternoon under the Azad Palestine banner. Additionally, DU issued a notice suspending classes and exams to express solidarity. Students held a protest march, calling for an end to genocide and an independent Palestine, and emphasized the need for the government to take a definitive stance against Israel. A “flag march” to the US embassy is scheduled for April 8th.
