New Delhi, April 28 (HS): A significant turnaround was witnessed in the race for the Orange and Purple Cap after the double-header matches played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Sunday.
On Sunday, the Orange Cap changed hands twice. Initially, Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians surpassed B Sai Sudharsan of the Gujarat Titans. Suryakumar scored a rapid 54 runs off 28 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants, moving past Sai Sudharsan, who had scored 417 runs, and reaching a total of 427 runs.
However, by the time the second match of the day arrived, Surya's happiness was short-lived. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Delhi Capitals, Virat Kohli scored 51 runs off 47 balls and claimed the Orange Cap with a total of 443 runs. Now, Sai Sudharsan has the opportunity to make a strong performance on Monday against the Rajasthan Royals to return to the top.
