Sambhal, 27 April (HS): Police
have filed a FIR under the Arms Act against three persons, including BJP
office-bearer Rajesh Singhal, an official said on Sunday. According to Asmoli
Station House Officer (SHO) Rajiv Kumar Malik, a photo of Singhal's personal
security staff clutching his revolver has circulated on social media. According
to the SHO, a FIR was filed under relevant provisions of the Arms Act following
a complaint from Head Constable Jawahar Singh.
Mohammad Faizi and Wasiul, both inhabitants of Bukanala village, were
mentioned in the FIR filed on Saturday, alongside Singhal. According to the
complaint submitted by the head constable, the image with the revolver was
purportedly shared on Facebook by Faizi and Wasiul, Singhal's personal security
staff. Singhal reportedly owns the
revolver.
However, Singhal disputed
the claim, calling it unfounded and unjustified. Asmoli Police Circle Officer
(CO) Kuldeep Singh stated that a charge was filed against three persons on
Saturday, and an investigation has begun. Singhal was previously the district
president of the Sambhal BJP and the BJP candidate for the Sambhal Assembly
constituency.
