Muzaffarnagar, 27 April
(HS): Police have detained two people in this city for allegedly fraudulently
framing a man in a jihad case and extorting more than Rs 1 lakh from him,
police said. The incident occurred in the Ladhowala neighborhood under Kotwali
police station, when a lady claimed she was raped and forced converted to
another faith by a guy acting as a Hindu and filming a movie under the guise of
marriage.
Circle Officer Raju Kumar
informed reporters that the inquiry found that the 'love jihad' allegation was
contrived. According to the CO, accused Shahnawaz, Sadakat, and the lady were
involved in a plan to extort money worth more than Rs 1 lakh from accused Babar
alias Sonu. Police are presently hunting for the lady who submitted the bogus
FIR.
On April 21, a case was
filed against Babar alias Sonu based on the woman's complaint, which alleges
rape, religious conversion, and the creation of a film under the guise of
marriage. The inquiry revealed that the fraudulent complaint was filed in
conjunction with Shahnawaz and Sadakat, culminating in the extraction of Rs
1,25,000 from Babar alias Sonu.
Shahnawaz and Sadakat were detained on Saturday night, and Rs 25,000 was
seized from them. The lady remains at
large, according to the CO.
