Chandigarh, April 18 (H.S.): The process of extraditing Punjab's most wanted terrorist, Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasia, has commenced, following his arrest by the FBI in the U.S. His return to India is anticipated soon. DGP Gaurav Yadav of the Punjab Police confirmed that a detailed dossier on Pasia was provided to the NIA and other central agencies, which facilitated his arrest based on shared intelligence.

Discussions are underway for his swift deportation to India, where he will be interrogated regarding multiple cases. Happy Pasia is identified as the mastermind behind various grenade attacks in Punjab. Originating from Amritsar, Pasia initially engaged in crime with gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and later collaborated with U.S.-based criminals Dermal Kahlon and Amrit Bal. He established connections with Harvinder Rinda in Pakistan and executed grenade attacks under ISI directives.

The Punjab Police had been monitoring him for months, dismantling several of his operational modules. The NIA announced a reward of 500,000 rupees for information leading to his capture in January 2025. Pasia is linked to 17 significant cases, including attacks in Chandigarh and has claimed responsibility for recent grenade incidents, including the one in Ajnala.
