New Delhi, April 17 (H.S.): Indian shooters have put on an impressive performance at the ISSF World Cup shooting competition currently taking place in Lima, Peru. On Wednesday, the pair of Suruchi Inder Singh and Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team event.
In the gold medal match, the Suruchi-Saurabh duo defeated the Chinese pair of Qiansun Yao and Kai Hu by a margin of 17-9. Both Indian shooters hit their targets with full confidence and clinched the title.
Manu-Ravinder lost in the bronze medal match
In the contest for the bronze medal, the Indian pair of Manu Bhaker and Ravinder Singh faced defeat against the Chinese shooters Qianke Ma and Yifan Zhang, losing by a score of 6-16.
Suruchi's second gold, Saurabh also takes individual bronze
On Tuesday, 18-year-old Suruchi won the gold medal in the women's 10-meter air pistol individual event, showcasing her talent. In this event, she secured the first position by surpassing her senior and two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker.
Meanwhile, Saurabh Chaudhary won the bronze medal in the men's 10-meter air pistol event, once again proving his exceptional performance. This marks Saurabh's first individual medal in any ISSF World Cup since 2022.
The Suruchi and Saurabh duo secured their place in the gold medal match with a total of 580 points, with Suruchi scoring two points more than Saurabh. In the selection phase, the Chinese pair Yao Qiansun and Hu Kai topped the charts with a score of 585 points.
