15 April (HS): The murder of 35-year-old Dalit man Devi Shankar in Isota
village, Prayagraj, has led to the arrest of eight persons. Shankar died as a
result of a struggle caused by a disagreement about a love relationship. The
accused burnt several of his bodily parts. In a tragic occurrence in Isota
village, Prayagraj, eight people were caught after the heinous murder of a
35-year-old Dalit man named Devi Shankar. The incident, which occurred under
the authority of the Karchana police station, has sent shockwaves through the
neighborhood. According to police sources, the deadly brawl sprang from a longstanding
love rivalry between the deceased and one of the suspects, Awadhesh Singh.
It was found that on the night of the crime,
Shankar and many of the accused convened to drink alcohol, resulting in a fatal
struggle over a shared love interest.
The main suspects in this case, according to the police, are Dilip
Singh, Awadhesh Singh, Vimlesh Gupta, and Mohit Singh. Following the murder, efforts to destroy
evidence were attempted, including setting fire to the victim's remains. The investigation is ongoing as law
enforcement works to determine the motivations behind this horrible act.
