New Delhi, March 31 (H.S.): Delhi's Education Minister Ashish Sood laid the foundation stone for the work of installing a settled sewer line near C2C Pocket 12 and Gate Number One of C2B, close to Major P SriKumar Marg, in his assembly constituency Janakpuri on Monday. He stated that this project will ensure better drainage and cleanliness in the area and is another step towards strengthening the infrastructure of developed Delhi.
Local residents had complained to the minister about the settling of sewer lines and the overflow of dirty water in the area. Following this, the minister took cognizance of the issue and directed the officials of the Delhi Jal Board to immediately replace the sewer line.
The minister informed that the total length of this sewer line is 126 meters and the work will be completed within a month. He also mentioned that, considering the rainy season, an inspection of all the sewer lines in the Janakpuri area along with this area is being conducted. He directed that any sewer line that has become old or whose capacity has decreased should be replaced or repaired soon.
The minister instructed the officials of the Delhi Jal Board and related departments to ensure that all sewer lines are cleaned using modern technology machines before the rains arrive. Additionally, instructions have been issued for the immediate repair of any broken drains and sewers.
Sood stated that under the leadership of Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, efforts are ongoing to make Delhi a clean city, and positive results will be seen. He reiterated that the Delhi government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of developed Delhi.
