Kathmandu, March 29 (HS): The curfew imposed in Kathmandu after violent protests and vandalism by royalist supporters on Friday has been lifted as of Saturday morning. The Kathmandu District Administration Office made this decision, with Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari noting that the situation has returned to normal. Consequently, the army has been withdrawn from the streets. Residents are now visiting areas affected by the recent disturbances. Security personnel remain present at key intersections in the city.
The curfew had been enforced in various locations, including Maitighar Mandala to Parliament House and Koteshwor to Balakumari, with police patrolling throughout the night to maintain order during the unrest. Life is gradually returning to normal in Kathmandu.
