Lucknow/Bareilly,
26 March (HS): Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare Minister Danish Azad Ansari said
on Wednesday that the BJP's 'Saugat-e-Modi' project, which distributes special
Eid kits comprising foodstuffs and garments to Muslims, is a one-of-a-kind
effort that will assist the poorest members of the community.
Ansari
stated that this is the first time the administration has considered reaching
out to the minority group, notably Pasmanda Muslims, ahead of Eid. Ansari, a
Pasmanda and the lone Muslim in Yogi Adityanath's cabinet, stated that the kits
include foods like vermicelli, dates, dried fruits, and sugar. In addition,
there are salwar-suit fabric pieces for our Muslim women, he stated, adding
that distribution was already beginning in Uttar Pradesh.
We
will distribute these kits in as many areas as possible, including Sambhal,
Ansari added, referring to the neighborhood that saw riots and protests in
November last year over a court-ordered mosque survey. Pasmanda Muslims, who
have historically been impoverished and disadvantaged, have become the focus of
the BJP's minority outreach, especially following the party's remarkable
electoral triumphs in Muslim-majority regions like as Rampur and Kundarki in
recent by-elections.
All
government initiatives are benefiting Pasmanda Muslims more than ever before,
according to Ansari. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, a Barelvi cleric and the
National President of the All India Muslim Society, lauded the move as a great
step toward unity.
This
gift from (Prime Minister) Modi is a response to those who propagate hatred,
instigate, and provoke others. It is also a reaction to those who use politics
to incite tensions between Hindus and Muslims, he added in a statement. He
stated that it will promote good thinking among Muslims.
