New Delhi, March 18 (H.S.): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held a meeting on Tuesday with all general secretaries and in-charges of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) at the party headquarters, Indira Bhavan. The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, was also present in this meeting. Discussions were held regarding the AICC session scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad.
After the meeting, party general secretary Jairam Ramesh informed reporters about the meeting's outcomes. He announced that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting will take place in Ahmedabad on April 8, and the AICC session will be held on April 9. He mentioned that meetings of all district Congress presidents have been called at Indira Bhavan on March 27-28 and April 3. The purpose of this meeting is to strengthen the District Congress Committees (DCC) and bring them to the center of the organization. Such a meeting will be held for the first time in 16 years.
Jairam Ramesh stated that a resolution was passed during the 'Nava Satyagraha meeting' in Belagavi, which declared that 2025 would be the year of the organization and announced the 'Organization Creation Program.' The meeting of district Congress presidents has been convened in this context.
Congress General Secretary and in-charge of Gujarat, Mukul Wasnik, mentioned that district Congress committee presidents will be given a central role in the organization. Our effort will be to further expand their powers. He stated that their role will be critical in strengthening the Congress organization at the grassroots level. Therefore, there was a deep discussion on this subject today.
