New
Delhi, 19 March (HS): Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, held an
important meeting with LIC agents on Wednesday to address critical concerns
about recent regulatory changes.
According to reports, these changes have made insurance less accessible
to India's vulnerable people and damaged the status of insurance agents. Gandhi
stated that the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) was founded in 1956 with the
purpose of providing cheap insurance to all residents, with a focus on the
neglected. He committed to push this
issue to the forefront of Parliament, ensuring that LIC's basic ideal of
inclusion is safeguarded.
This meeting,
held at Gandhi's office in the Parliament House complex, allowed agents from
all across the country to express their concerns freely. Gandhi underlined his
commitment to protecting the interests of the poorest people, emphasizing the
need for more comprehensive insurance plans.
