Chennai, 17 March (H.S.): In a shocking incident of gang violence, two history-sheeters, Arun and Padappai Suresh, were hacked to death by a group of unidentified persons near Nagavalli Amman temple in Kotturpuram, Chennai, late Sunday night.
According to police sources, the victims were sleeping near the temple when the gang members, who arrived on bikes, attacked them with knives and fled the scene.
The police have formed three special teams to trace the suspects involved in the killings. Senior police officers visited the spot, and further investigation is underway.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the murders may be linked to a case of gang rivalry. Arun was reportedly planning to avenge his girlfriend's killing, and his rival, 'Sukku Coffee' Suresh, allegedly hatched a plan with his associates to murder Arun and his friend Padappai Suresh.
The police are reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
