Guwahati, 17 March (HS): Continuing its crackdown to detect illegal infiltrators (Bangladeshis and Rohingyas), the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Northeast Frontier Railway conducted a checking drive at Dharmanagar and Agartala railway stations of NFR in February. During this, 11 illegal migrants and 02 Indian agents were caught.

In an incident on February 15, a team of Agartala Railway Protection Force conducted a routine search at Agartala Railway Station. During the search, they found 02 Bangladeshi female nationals at the station. On enquiry, they could not produce any valid documents to prove their identity. Later, they admitted to having entered India illegally from Bangladesh. The illegal migrants were handed over to the Incharge/Government Railway Police/Agartala for further legal action.

Various steps are taken on a regular basis by the Railway Protection Force of NPR to keep a strict vigil on illegal migrants, Rohingyas and suspicious persons in stations and trains. The RPF personnel deployed in stations and trains are very vigilant at various levels to detect any such suspicious activities.
