Bhubaneswar, 17 March (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Union Minister Dr. Debendra Pradhan. In a condolence message, the Chief Minister described the late Dr. Pradhan as a popular public leader who served with dedication and competence as the Union Minister of Transport and Agriculture from 1999 to 2001.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Dr. Debendra Pradhan played a key role in implementing numerous welfare programs during his tenure and earned the respect and admiration of the general public. His significant contribution to the development of the state, particularly in strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha, was highlighted by the Chief Minister.

He further stated that Dr. Pradhan dedicated his entire life to the service and development of the state with a sense of commitment and resolve. His passing is a great loss to both the state and the nation, as they have lost a great public servant.

The Chief Minister also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Dr. Pradhan's son, Union Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, and other family members. He prayed to God to give them the strength to bear this immense sorrow. The Chief Minister spoke to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan over the phone to offer his condolences and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
