Kolkata, 8 February (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) resounding victory in the Delhi Assembly elections has triggered massive celebrations across West Bengal. Jubilant party workers gathered at the BJP state headquarters in Salt Lake, bursting crackers, smearing each other with gulal, and chanting slogans hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The enthusiasm spread beyond Kolkata, with a massive victory rally in Bankura, marking the political significance of the Delhi results in Bengal.
BJP's Salt Lake office transformed into a festival ground as leaders and workers came together to celebrate the party’s triumph in the national capital. Drums echoed in the air, sweets were distributed, and BJP flags waved high, signaling the party’s growing confidence ahead of the upcoming political battles in Bengal. Senior BJP leaders addressed the gathering, emphasizing that Delhi’s mandate reflects a national sentiment rejecting corruption and endorsing development-oriented governance.
In Bankura, the excitement was equally electrifying. A grand victory rally commenced from the district BJP headquarters, with jubilant workers bursting crackers and distributing sweets. Party supporters, draped in saffron scarves, raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and hailed the BJP’s leadership. The rally culminated at Station More, where a ceremonial distribution of sweets took place.
Bankura MLA Niladri Dana, who actively participated in the celebrations, stated, “The people of Delhi have decisively rejected the corrupt AAP government. This victory is not just BJP’s, but a triumph for all 140 crore Indians. It is a testament to the people's faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.”
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP’s Bankura district president Sunil Rudra Mandal remarked, “Delhi’s verdict proves that the common man wants progress, not corruption. The wave that started in Delhi will soon sweep across Bengal, bringing a new political dawn.”
The grand scale of celebrations in Bengal following Delhi’s BJP victory signifies a growing momentum for the saffron party in the state. With the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections on the horizon, the BJP sees Delhi’s mandate as a precursor to political change in Bengal. The party’s leadership remains confident that this momentum will strengthen their campaign against the ruling TMC in the state.
