South 24 Parganas, 4 February (H.S.): West Bengal STF and the Baruipur police seized banned drugs worth about ₹ one crore from a house located in Mandal Pada of Khodar Bazar in Baruipur on Tuesday. Apart from that, several lakh rupees in cash were also recovered from the house.

As per information, a homeopathic doctor has a four-storey house in the area, one floor of which was rented by a person named Mokalesh Sheikh for about a year. During the raid, the drugs and cash were found from Mokalesh's house. The STF was present in the area since morning and the search continued till four in the evening.

Mokalesh lived in this house with his wife and two sons and also ran a shop locally. However, the local people did not know much about them, they were only seen coming and going.

The police had information that Mokalesh was involved in drug trafficking and his mother-in-law, Serina Bibi, used to help him in this work. The raid was conducted as part of a plan to catch Serina bringing a large quantity of drugs on this day. During the operation, Mokalesh and his mother-in-law were caught at home, but his wife was not present at home.
