Rekha Gupta takes over reins of Delhi along with six MLAs as ministers

New Delhi, February 20 (HS): Rekha Gupta, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Shalimar Bagh, Delhi, took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi today. Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena administered the oath to her at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. BJP has returned to power in Delhi after 27 years.Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and many cabinet ministers were present on this occasion.

Rekha Gupta has become the fourth woman Chief Minister of Delhi. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister Lallan Singh, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and other leaders were also present at the swearing-in ceremony.

After Rekha Gupta, Lieutenant Governor Saxena administered the oath of ministership to Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Singh Indraj, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Singh respectively.
